FAQs

Level 1 and 2: Plyospeed and Plyopower Intensive Training Programs

Who are the Intensive Training Programs suitable for?

The 8-week intensive program (Level 1 - PlyoSpeed) is specifically designed for dedicated athletes who are serious about elevating their athletic capabilities and building a strong foundational understanding of movement. This program was scientifically studied within a group of 12-18 year olds, however, athletes under 12 years old who are driven and have a willingness to be challenged are welcome to train within this format on a case-by-case basis. For individuals outside this age range or those with more specific or advanced training needs, our One-on-One Functional Fitness Training or the Program For Serious Athletes might be more appropriate as they offer a higher degree of individualization.

What is the time commitment for Level 1 Plyospeed and Level 2 Plyopower Programs?

The PlyoSpeed Level One is an 8-week program that meets 3 times a week, with each session lasting 90 minutes. An additional 90 minutes is needed for testing at the start and end. The PlyoPower Level Two is a 12-week program, also meeting 3 times a week with 90-minute sessions in a progressive format.

What is the cost of the 8 and 12 week intensive training program?

Our 8-week intensive program has a set fee within a group of 15-20 athletes. Our 12-week PlyoPower intensive program also has a set fee within a smaller group of 8-10 athletes. For the exact cost breakdown, visit our booking page. Payment plans may be available on a need basis. Contact us to discuss payment options.

What improvements can I expect from the Intensive Training Programs?

Our programs are tested and proven to provide significant physical gains for participants. Our athletes typically experience enhanced speed, power, agility, and a greater understanding of efficient movement patterns, improving on-field performance and reducing injury risk. For a more detailed understanding, check out the Results and Functional Training pages.

How do the Intensive Training Programs improve athletic performance?

Our Intensive Programs emphasize specialized training beyond general fitness, targeting key attributes for athletic success: strength, power, speed, agility, balance, and flexibility. Exercises are based on essential neuromuscular patterns to optimize coordination and movement efficiency. In Level 1 PlyoSpeed, we focus on landing mechanics and force production for faster sprinting and power development. Level 2 PlyoPower requires 90% completion of Level 1, emphasizing energy transfer for explosive movements and introducing a range of weighted dynamic exercises tailored to sport mechanics. A strong foundation of safe movement is crucial for progression and injury prevention.

Injury prevention is a top priority at Avant. We utilize an evidence-based approach to develop optimal movement patterns and training techniques vital for reducing preventable injuries.
